SunLive Competition

Big girls don’t cry, but some might if they miss out on a ticket to an internationally acclaimed show dedicated to the music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons this week.

Direct from the showrooms of Las Vegas comes Oh What A Night! A Musical Tribute to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons which is on-stage in Rotorua and Tauranga this Thursday and Saturday.

Presented by the Stenson Group, this latest run is the show’s third tour to New Zealand and features Oh What a Night! creators and performers George Solomon, Michael Chapman and Paul Holmquist, with James Bullard.

These toe-tapping two hour productions will have Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons fans singing along to about 30 of the groups iconic tunes like ‘Sherry’, ‘December, 1963 (Oh What A Night)’, ‘Walk Like A Man’, ‘Silence Is Golden’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ plus more.

“In the 1960s, four scrappy young men from New Jersey — Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito — had the magic sound that propelled them from singing under streetlights to singing in spotlights,” says a Stenson Group spokesperson.

“However, personal and professional problems threatened to tear the group apart. No such thing with these four lads. They sound just like the originals. You’ll hear the authentic, sublime harmonies of New Jersey’s finest.”

The Stenson Group presents Oh What A Night! A Musical Tribute to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons at Rotorua’s Civic Centre on Thursday, September 1, then at Tauranga’s Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, September 3.

Tickets cost $69-$75 and are available online at Eventfinda.
