Motorist travelling on State Highway 2, Karangahake are being warned to drive carefully after heavy rain and flooding.
Police say heavy rain has caused flooding on State Highway 2 through the Karangahake Gorge between Waihi and Paeroa. The road remains open but extreme care is needed.
Police are patrolling the area and drivers are asked to slow down and follow directions of officers.
New Zealand Transport Agency says there is flooding just under 3km southeast of Te Moananui.

what an idiot going through flood waters at that speed cant see what may be on the road
