Motorcyclist dies after crash

A crash between a car and motorbike has left the rider dead.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Old Te Aroha Road, 2.5km away from State Highway 24, around 3.30pm yesterday.


Police are investigating the crash in which a motorcyclist died on Old Te Aroha Road yesterday.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Scott Osmond says paramedics performed CPR on the rider, who died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The serious crash unit has been called in to investigate the cause of the crash.
