Powerball jackpot climbs to $30M

Powerball was not struck lastnight and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $30 million.

Following the introduction of Lotto, Powerball and Strike to Wednesday and Saturday last year, Kiwis now have the chance to play for bigger Powerball prizes than ever before.

What would you do with $30 million?

'Powerball is now a bigger and better game with more winners, more millionaires and more to play for than ever before,” says Wayne Pickup, Chief Executive at Lotto NZ.

'The Powerball jackpot could be won at any time, but if it continues to roll over a Must Be Won draw will be called at $40 million.”

The last time the Powerball jackpot was over $30 million was almost three years ago, when a self-proclaimed Auckland ‘Westie' took home $33 million to become the country's largest-ever individual Powerball winner.

A Lotto player from Auckland will be celebrating after winning $1 million with Lotto First Division in tonight's live Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Victoria Park New World in Auckland.

Strike Four was also won by a player from Papakura, who takes home $138,389. The winning Strike ticket was sold at Papakura Photo Image.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.

Lotto players can buy a ticket for Saturday's $30 million Lotto Powerball draw from any Lotto retailer or online at MyLotto.co.nz.
