'It appears the woman's car was in the truck's drivers blind spot and he has clipped her,” says Wayne.

'She was uninjured but very shaken.”

Car drivers...

Need to understand that trucks are so much bigger and harder to see out of. Truck drivers have one set of eyes and one neck, just like car drivers... driving a truck, you can look every which way and prepare to change lanes or turn... but if cars zip around, one minute behind, next minute beside the truck... the truckie cant look in all directions at once. Cars and motorcycles need to be PREDICTABLE around trucks and remember, if you cant see the trucks mirrors, then it is likely they cant see you! Don't sit in blind spots, you may be 'in the right'.... but it wont help you if you are 'dead right'will it? Trucks are a necessary evil. Your food, new golf clubs, car parts and everything else comes on trucks... be patient, give them space. Coexist! Glad lady was not hurt, could have been way worse

We are big and slow to take off but when we get up and running we can go as fast as a car. Be patient. The amount of times people risk their life to overtake us only for us to catch them up at the lights is unbelievable...

And as well KW...

once we do get up to speed, it takes about twice as long to stop as the average small car.... so a car cutting in front of a loaded truck then jamming on the brakes because the light goes 'ORANGE' is a particularly bad move.... yes, the car mught be 'in the right' but if it can stop in 30 metres, but my 62 tonne truck takes 70 metres to stop.... the folks at the car drivers funeral will be cursing how dangerous trucks are.... So, count that as my 'tip for the day'... if you are driving your little car and cut in front of a truck... look in your mirror first and don't even consider jamming on your brakes, even if the light has gone orange... or even nearly red.... better yet, make it a point to not cut off trucks?
