again on that road people are getting hurt or dying. this is a very dangerous stretch of road. the council should be lobbying the government for safer roads in a growing community. everything seams to be 5 years away when it comes to new roads. how many people will die by then.

Not dangerous

It's no more dangerous than any other road. Most accidents are the result of driver inattention. More care, attention to what's ahead, and defensive driving needed.

Don't blame the road

After a crash, there are always the naysayers who blame the road for the accident. How about the drivers of these cars taking some responsibility for speed, alcohol consumption, inattention - whatever was the real cause of the crash!

I love it when....

People/reporters say "Everyone knows how dangerous such and such road is!"... well, hello.... if everyone keeps saying how deadly a piece of road is.... and people have accidents there still.... then it can only be the drivers fault due to not enough respect for the task at hand (driving) .... it is just more proof, to me, of Darwin's theory being more than simply a theory.

Cant see why

that stretch of road is any worse than any other. Too many drivers in too much of a rush and or not paying attention while driving its a proven fact and regardless of all that and the cause of the accident two people lost their lives yesterday and that's two too many.............

There is nothing wrong with that bit of road. It is not dangerous in anyway or form. The only danger is the people that drive it. Kiwis.
