Detective Sergeant Darren Thomas says the pair were arrested after police executed a search warrant at a residential address in Whakatāne on Friday.

Both are in custody and are due to appear in the Whakatāne District Court today.

'In these burglaries the offenders stole a large amount of bedding, furniture, household appliances, food and cash. The stolen property is valued at approximately $10,000,” says Darren.

Some of the stolen property has been recovered by police and enquiries are continuing.

'We want to sincerely thank members of the community who helped us to apprehend these active offenders and prevent further property loss.”
