If you love your music and art then make sure you shimmy on down to Te Puna Hall for a fabulous event combing the two tonight.

Tonight's event is one part concert and one part exhibition which features about 40 portraits the Kokomo co-founder has created of his musical buddies that form his Songs From the Fire Pit art series.

Grant says a handful of musicians featured in the series includes the lads from Kokomo and Brilleaux, John Michaels, Robbie Laven, and a couple of his wife and Kokomo trumpet player Sonia Bullot.

'The series celebrates my musical friends really, people I've jammed with over the years and hold a huge amount of respect for who have inspired me too.”

Tonight's crowd will also be treated to video footage which will tie in with the art, along with performances from Brilleaux, The Packhouse Experience, The Little River Boys plus members of Kokomo. Word on the street is Grant will also be on the mic with guitar in hand singing up a storm.

And if you needed another reason to get down to Te Puna tonight, the Songs From the Fire Pit Concerbitionis likely to be one, if not the last event held in the Hall before it's demolished to make way for a roundabout.

'That was partly behind the decision to hold it at the hall, but more than that, I love it as a venue. It's been fantastic for entertainment, there's been some really great shows in there,” says Grant.

The Songs From the Fire Pit Concerbition – The Art and Music of Grant Bullot takes place at Te Puna Hall this Saturday, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost $10 and are available online from Eventfinda.
