Police have released the name of the 16-year-old killed when a ute crashed through an Otumoetai home.
Herewini Gates, of Tauranga, died at the scene of the crash in the early hours of Monday morning.
The crash caused extensive damage to the home, including throwing one of its occupants across her bedroom.

Police wish to extend their sympathies to the family at this time.
