Petrol thief busted in Thames

A person attempting to steal petrol and shoes from a shed in Thames will appear in court charged with burglary.

Police were called to a Thames property about 9am yesterday after a local called state a person was stealing petrol and shoes from their locked shed.

“The occupant, assisted by a couple of other locals, were able to keep the male there until Police arrived,” says a post on the Waikato Police Facebook page.

A 23-year-old male has been charged with burglary and will be appearing in the Hamilton District Court.

“Another great example of Safer Communities Together.

“Remember, only intervene if you can do so safely but Police really appreciate it when things like this happen!”
