A bin off the back of an EnviroWaste truck is blocking one lane of State Highway 29.

Police were called to the incident, near Redwood Lane, around 10.20am.

A police spokesperson says they received a report that a rubbish truck's back trailer had rolled on Redwood Lane, Tauriko.

"The driver is unijured but the vehicle is blocking the southbound lane. Traffic can get around, police are there directing motorists.

"Only a small amount of rubbish has gone on the road."

A crane has been called in to remove the bin from the road and police hope to have traffic flowing again soon.

This is happening too much. I nearly got hit by an outdoor table flying off the back of a trailer on Hewletts Road in December. A friend was hit by a trailer coming loose from a car at Hairini just before Christmas. What about the portal of that flew off a truck and killed someone in a vehicle, on the Katikati Road about 18 months ago. Anyone know what happened to the person transporting it?

golly gosh

What i see with my experience is, it looks like the TWIST LOCKS have not been turned around,(I could be wrong) NO truck in sight, that was the same corner that another rubbish truck rolled over and blocked the Bridge, oh well, we will see what the outcome is, must be thinking when on these trucks to CHECK before you leave, that all is well,Gosh there could have been a car following, (im lost ) with whats going on,my years as a driver, always check before you leave where ever you are,my Tuppence worth, for what its worth,No1 in NEWS in the Bay Thankyou, 10-4 out.
