Aucklanders

The swarm of recent crashes are probably due to the masses of Aucklanders moving to Tauranga and the vastly different driving styles colliding...literally. That and people texting or paying more attention to their phone than the road.

Council causing traffic chaos

As the holiday season closes, we once again see the idiotic council adding to the confusion and chaos with unnecessary roadworks.Te Puke is a classic example.Smooth flowing traffic in two lanes flows through the township for years without incident. So idiotic council puts huge blocks in the road through the town, regardless of the wishes of the majority of Te Pukeans.Result = near misses, loss of car parks, loss of revenue to retailers, [some reporting more than 30% drop in income.]Do the council listen?THEY know better than the residents of this township what is best for the town!?The councilors of course do not derive their income from Te Puke.I wonder what would happen if the residents refused, en masse, to pay their rates - because THEY know the best use of the rates - not the council. If it ain't broke, don't fixit
