Anyone interested in Aspen Reserve and the inner city vibe of Tauranga can have their say over cake and coffee on Thursday and Friday.
Directly opposite Tauranga's iconic Old Post Office building in Willow Street, Aspen Reserve is an open 1012sqm space with some seating.
A shelter belt of trees, planted on the reserve in the 1860's and now gone, sheltered the gardens of the Church Missionary Society's Maori Boys' School that was part of the Mission Station.
The redevelopment of Aspen Reserve is part of the Heart of the City programme which council adopted in December 2016.
The purpose of the programme is to create a vibrant, safe and successful city centre.
The Aspen Reserve Open Days are:
Thursday, February 9, from 11.30am to 1.30pm
Friday, February 10, from 11.30am to 1.30pm
The alternative wet weather location is the Tauranga City Council office on Willow St. Feedback can be emailed to haveyoursay@tauranga.govt.nz

This area has been forgotten for years. I would like to see photos of its history there, and exercise area with apparatus to use in part of it. There is a lot of space there.
