Several roads in Mount Maunganui will be closed due to the Generation Homes Women's Triathlon on February 26.
The event organisers are expecting more than 600 women will line up for Sunday's triathlon which is taking place in Pilot Bay and consists of a 400m swim, 10km cycle, and 4km run or walk.
The triathlon features individuals, team, and a special mother-daughter category, and the average competitor will take just over an hour to complete the course.
Tauranga City Council advises the following roads will be closed at the following times:
ROAD CLOSURES - 5.30am–1pm
- Salisbury Wharf Car Park – the entire car parking area
- Salisbury Avenue – from Victoria Road to The Mall
ROAD CLOSURES - 6.30am–12pm:
- The Mall – from Prince Avenue to Adams Avenue including Pilot Bay Boat Ramp
- Adams Avenue – from The Mall to Adams Avenue
- Marine Parade – from Adams Avenue to Oceanbeach Road
Racing is set to take place from 8.30am
