A man has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car on Wharawhara Road, near Katikati.
A police spokesperson says they received a call at around 2.30pm informing them a man had been hit by a vehicle and was lying on the road.
He was reportedly conscious at the time of the call.
Police and ambulance are in attendance, with medical treatment being provided to the man onsite.
The driver of the vehicle is reportedly still at the location – around 100 metres up Wharawhara Road – and assisting police.
One lane is said to be blocked at this time.
