A car has flipped upside down in wet conditions on Kaitemako Road, in Welcome Bay.

A police spokesperson says they received a call at 12.33pm alerting them to the incident.

The accident occurred just before the intersection with Shady Lane. No other vehicle is believed to have been involved.

Four occupants escaped the car with minor to moderate injuries, and were taken to hospital to be checked.

A tow truck has been called to remove the vehicle, which was partially blocking one lane.

Yet again a one vehicle crash. Just maybe driver inattention and driving too fast for the conditions. Let's put allegedly in there to make it PC.

Weather has nothing to do with it

Unless a tornado picked the car up and put it there..this is just another example of how incompetent many drivers are in NZ.
