One lane was left blocked following a crash at the roundabout of State Highway 29A and Truman lane in Mount Maunganui.

A police spokesperson says there were no injuries as a result of the two vehicle crash at about 9.30am

'A tow truck was required to remove the vehicle and traffic flow at the time was heavy.”

The spokesperson says there was also no spillage or debris left on the road as a result of the crash.

'It was pretty straight forward.”

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline also reported two other separate vehicle crashes also occurred in the vicinity of the Baypark roundabout within an hour of each other.

However, the police spokesperson was unable to verify these crashes.

Too often at round-a-bouts the Give Way sign is ignored! Too many trying to beat the traffic, not even slowing down as they approach. No intention of following road rules. The other is texting. Often followed by people texting as approaching the Bayfair round-a-bout. The eyes are not looking ahead but looking down. Just waiting to be tail ended on one of these days.

Giveaway what's that?

I agree with not surprised- while giving way to the right applies many motorists just hurtle straight thru the roundabouts - no one seems to realise the rules for roundabouts it's all about courtesy
