Good morning! Check out our weather update on the video link. Today's sunrise was viewed from Humpty Dumpty's perspective in Memorial Park.

As well as a weather update we also include some daily facts, quotes and highlight what's on.

Here's a couple of interest facts from 'This Day in NZ History':

In 1994, 11-year-old Anna Paquin became the first kiwi to win an Academy Award for her role in historical drama The Piano.

In 2003 Race Relations Day was first formally celebrated in NZ with the theme 'Hands up for Kiwis of Every Race and Place'. This year's Race Relations Day theme is "That's Us: What do we stand for? What do we stand against?"

It's a two layer of clothing day but remember to still keep up the sun protection and have a great day!

Should the Christmas/New Year school holidays be moved to February when the weather is typically better in NZ?

Yes, that is when I would take my holidays.
