One of the final five cruise ships to visit Tauranga this season arrived in port from Napier this morning.

Registered with Oceanic Cruises, the Noordam has a gross tonnage of 82,318 tonnes, is 285 metres in length, and is carrying 1924 passengers and 794 crew members on board.

Donna Ringling from Missouri is enjoying her last stop in Tauranga before heading home to the United States on Sunday.

"It was lovely. I ended up losing my map so walked around to the surf beach, stopped and had a coke and continued on. It was lovely. Beautiful beaches."

The Noordam is due to sail out of port at 6.30pm this evening bound for Auckland, but will return for its last visit of the cruise ship season on Monday, March 27.

Port of Tauranga security officer Graham Petch says there are five more cruise ships due in to port after this weekend.
