Many people are waking up to water laping at their back door after a deluge of rain overnight.

Only one road is closed in Tauranga today, and SH30 near Awakeri is closed in the Eastern Bay.

There are also reports of an Eastern Bay school being closed. SunLive is working on getting more information and will update this story as soon as we have something.

With more rain forecast today, people are bracing themselves for flooding and other weather related incidents.
