A rescue helicopter has been called to Benner Road at Pongakawa after a Person riding a quad bike was struck by a train this afternoon.
Emergency service are at the scene, believed to be near the intersection of SH2 and Benner Road near the turn off to Pukehina. The accident happened about 3.30pm.
The injured person is believed to have suffered moderate to serious head and leg injuries. No other details are currently available.
