What’s On? Fun Run & Football

Happy Mothers' Day! Yes, it's that time of year again – the second Sunday in May, when we take time to thank our mums for everything they do.

I know I wouldn't be here without her – so thanks Mum!

Some of you may already have signed up to the Jennian Homes Mothers' Day Fun Run/Walk, starting at 10am today at Kulim Park.

Now in its sixth year, the nationwide event is part of an initiative run by Jennian Homes to support the Heart Foundation's ‘Heart Foundation for Women' campaign, which aims to improve the heart health of New Zealand women.

And this year's figure, including record event numbers in Tauranga (750), Paihia (1070), Christchurch (950) and Wellington (930), eclipses the previous mark of 7000 set in 2016.

It will be a great chance for mothers and daughters to spend some time together, so keep an eye out for them in their Dick Frizzell designed T-shirts.

Tauranga City United AFC is also playing another home game at Links Ave Reserve. From 2pm the first team takes on Waiheke United in a Chatham Cup match, which will hopefully result in a win, the visitors being from a division below.

The Chatham Cup, which can be contested by all amateur football clubs in New Zealand, will also be on display at Links Ave for people to see.

Find out what else you can do today (maybe with your mother) below:
