May 21: Playday On Track – Lake Taupo

There's three groups of cars set for 7.30am-4.30am at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park. So whether it's your first time on the track or you've done it before, Playday on Track will cater to your comfort level. And it doesn't matter if you drive a $500 Honda, a family car or a $1.2 million Pagani Zonda – as long as it's roadworthy. Just bring your helmet, overalls and glasses, plus a sense of humour. May 28: The SOS Edgecumbe Charity Ride

The charity run, being organised by the Tauranga Weekend Riders group, will see a convoy of bike riders journey from Mount Maunganui to Edgecumbe – taking money, food and households goods with them.

Money will also be raised via the $10 per rider run fee – to provide food, water, facilities, shelter and equipment for Edgecumbe's clean-up. Riders meet at Club Mount Maunganui from 9am on May 28 to register. The ride starts 11am and finishes 1.30pm at Edgecumbe Memorial Hall, followed by a gathering at Mount Mellick, Tauranga.

May 28: Motorsport BOP – Oropi Gorge sprint

Motorsport Bay of Plenty is hosting its Oropi Gorge Rd sprint from 8am-5pm. The 1.5km tarmac sprint has a practice and three timed runs. The fastest wins by class, and overall. Racing starts at the junction with Oropi Rd, with parking and pits in the school carpark. Drivers need current club membership and an M Grade licence. Details www.mbop.org.nz

June 23-25: Bay Rodders WinterBlast – Tauranga

Bay Rodders' annual WinterBlast is offering an early registration and meet and greet on the Friday night at their Cherokee place clubrooms from 5pm-8pm. Saturday starts with a clubroom breakfast from 8am-9.30am, a 9am-3pm mystery run followed by dinner, band and spot prizes from 6.30pm.

The big public event is the Swap Meet and Car Display on Sunday from 9am-2pm at Durham St carpark building. This features hotrods, new vehicles, muscle cars, street machines, vintage cars, and motorcycles and race cars galore. Entry is adults $12,
under-12s free and a family pass is $12.

July 9: Central North Island Swap Meet & Car Show - Rotorua

Hosted by the Rotorua Vintage Car Club at Rotorua Stockcar Track, Paradise Valley Rd, this is the 36th Annual Central North Island Swap Meet and Car Show.
