The driver of a rubbish truck which rolled near Aongatete was lucky to have escaped the crash with no injuries.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Sharp Road at 10.24am.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion says the accident was called in by a member of the public who described it as a four tonne Waste Management Truck.

Ian says the driver was not injured.

'No other details were available as police called to the scene have left.”

Meanwhile, police are responding to reports of an accident on a kiwifruit orchard in Te Puke.

Ian says details are limited as police are still trying to get to the scene.
