SociaLink and the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust are pleased to announce Gordon Lockart has been appointed the inaugural manager of The Kollective.

The community hub, which will be managed by SociaLink, offers a large working space to encourage collaboration between not for profit organisations.

SociaLink general manager Liz Davies says Gordon not only brings with him extensive business, people management and project leadership experience.

'Gordon also brings bag loads of personality and passion for the social services sector.”

TECT general manager Wayne Werder says to date, progress on The Kollective project has been very positive, with the groundworks nearing completion.

'Gordon's appointment is another important milestone, and the appointment in early June will allow him to be engaged in the finer detail of the planning and to continue working with not for profit organisations interested in moving into The Kollective.”

In regards to construction, CBC Construction, which is the main contractor for the project, continues to make good progress on the groundworks, adds Wayne.

'This includes establishing the site to a safe building platform, but also planning for the enhancement of the wider green space in partnership with the Historic Village.”

This is a great step towards the establishment of a much needed community hub here in Tauranga.I've met the manager of the hub in Christchurch and we can be excited about the prospects of shared services, collaborative work and the creation of a "one stop shop" for those needing help...
