Highway open after fatal crash

One person has died following a single vehicle crash near Thames. File photo.

Police are investigating the cause of a crash which claimed the life of one person in Thames overnight.

The single vehicle crash happened shortly after 8pm on State Highway 26/Paeroa Kopu Road, says police.

SH26 Paeroa Kopu Road was closed overnight, but according to the NZTA, is now open.

'Serious Crash Unit is investigating.”
