Teenager killed in overnight crash

An 18-year-old man is dead following a crash in Hamilton overnight.

The man was the driver and sole occupant of a car that crashed into a tree on River Road, says police.

"The man had been signalled to stop by a police officer due to the manner of his driving. He failed to stop and crashed a short time later.

'Diversions are in place on River Road near Oakley Avenue while the Serious Crash Unit investigates the scene.

'Further information will be released as it becomes available.”

The serious crash unit is investigating.

There seems to be a lot of trees on the road in the last 3 weeks, what is going on, for goodness sake,it always seem to say that they fail to stop and CRASH a short time later, me tinks there is more on these accidents, my thoughts are that trees have been there a long time, and cars just have to get in their way, my thoughts only on this subject, anyway SUNLIVE WON IN NZ for NEWS this is AWESOME ,WELL DONE No1, Thankyou, 10-4 out, phew.

these trees that keep on jumping out onto the road. about time the law started cracking down on them . might have to write to mr trump about them.
