A Papamoa woman is puzzled after finding a message in a bottle washed up on Papamoa Beach.

Judith Taylor has taken to a local Facebook page to find the owners of items which she found in a washed up a wine bottle, over a week ago.

'When I broke it open there was a note – all of the writing had washed off – and two photos,” says Judith.

She describes the incident as out of the ordinary.

'It's just bizarre, I walk on the beach most days and find all sorts of stuff but this one was quite intriguing.

'Whatever was written on the note would've led to the clue of what it was about or where it came from.”

So far there are no clues as to who the items may belong to, says Judith.
