Water supply has been restored to Mount Maunganui and Papamoa, following a water main break overnight.
The broken water main has been successfully repaired and connected back into the network.
Tauranga City Council says it will take another day for the Mount and Papamoa reservoirs to recover.
'The council's water team will keep a close eye on the system as they work to get everything back to normal.
'Thanks to everyone who played a part in conserving water, no matter how big or small. Every bit of water savings put the Mount and Papamoa in a better position to cope in case things had not gone smoothly.”
The council also thank the combined efforts of Downer, Fulton Hogan, Impact Engineering and council teams for helping restore the water supply.
