One lane of Waihi Road blocked

UPDATED 3PM: Both lanes of Waihi Road are now cleared.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing team leader Senior Sergeant Ian Campion says there had been a minor crash involving a truck.

"However, the scene was clear by the time police arrived and traffic was flowing."

EARLIER:

Traffic is reportedly backing up on Waihi Road due to a truck trailer blocking one lane.

A caller to the SunLive newsroom who lives on Waihi Road says the lane is blocked down the hill from the BP Summit petrol station, heading towards Tauranga.

He says traffic is backed up all the way to Otumoetai Road.
