People in Rotorua are reporting feeling an earthquake which hit the Bay of Plenty overnight.
GeoNet is reporting a 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit near Rotorua at 9.17pm.
Despite the light shaking, the earthquake was only 4km deep.
People in the Rotorua area took to Facebook after the jolt, saying it was a good shake.
No other earthquakes have been reported in the area since.
