Kia ora, SunLive readers, and welcome to what is an initially wet Sunday.
I say ‘initially' because, who knows? It might fine up later – it is spring, after all.
That being said, MetService has us down for a decent bucketing of rain, with falls heavy at times, and a chance of evening thunderstorms.
However, October's biggest event – The Weekend Sun Mount Busking Festival – is still going ahead, rain or shine. The festival, organised by Mount Mainstreet, is a perennial favourite, showcasing the best amateur performers and buskers from Tauranga and beyond.
The junior section performs from 10.30am-12pm and the open section from 12.30-2.30pm. Mount Mainstreet invites you to vote for your favourite act to be in a draw to win $50 Mount Mainstreet cash. There's also a multitude of cafes, restaurants and bars to grab a coffee, a wine or beer, and soak up the magic of Mount Mainstreet.
There's also a free photo booth. And for the kids, donkey rides, animal petting pens, Pepi Toot train rides around the Mount streets, free popcorn, fun games out on the closed road, face painting, balloon twisting, stilt walking and a trampoline.
All of the acts will be under cover, so don't be deterred by the weather. Come down and enjoy the show!
If you'd rather stay indoors, though, there's plenty of other events on below:
