Toddler airlifted from Matakana Island

The Truspower TECT rescue helicopter was dispatched to Matakana Island on Saturday morning, after a two-year-old reportedly experienced breathing difficulties.

The boy was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital for treatment.

At around midday the helicopter was dispatched once again, this time to Matata.

A 17-year-old girl had fallen from her motocross bike at Burt's Farm.

She had a suspected spinal injury, and was flown to Rotorua Hospital for treatment.
