Armed police have been spotted in the Judea area this evening.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says they saw the Armed Offenders Squad on Robins Road, just past the fork in the road.

A police spokesperson says armed police are in the area as part of a pre-planned search warrant.

"The AOS are assisting as a precaution."

Recently, firefighters were called to a fire at Faulkner Park on Robins Road.

The fire is currently being treated as suspicious, however, police have not confirmed whether or not there is a connection between the fire and today's search warrant.
