One person is reported have been involved in a crash on State Highway 36 near Rotorua, earlier this morning.

A police media spokesperson says the crash occurred between Jackson Rd and Kaharoa Rd.

'The initial report was that a vehicle with one person in it - the driver - was on its roof.

'This vehicle is now off the road and is not blocking the route.

'There are no details on injuries but the driver is conscious.

Police are currently at the scene.

Emergency services are in attendance of a crash on State Highway 36 near Rotorua where one car is reported to have rolled.

The crash is on Tauranga Direct Road between Kaharoa Road and Jackson Road.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a car appears to be on its roof.
