Morning all and welcome to Monday – the last day of what hopefully has been a fantastic long weekend enjoyed by all.
It seems the weather has not come to the party today, with the forecast seeing rain developing this morning, becoming briefly heavy with possible thunderstorms from midday and easing evening as northeast changes southwest.
Despite this, there are plenty of indoor activities going on around the region today which promise you can still get out and enjoy your weekend without getting caught in the rain.
Don't miss out on the last day of the annual Art Waikino exhibition and art competition which will be filling the historic Victoria Hall. Local and not so local artists will be showcasing their work in the art, craft, photography, other and people and outdoor sculpture categories. Entry to the exhibiton at Labour Weekend is a gold coin donation and all art will be for sale, so it's a great opportunity to discover original New Zealand art for your wall. All proceeds from Art Waikino go towards the upkeep of the historic Victoria Hall. Don't forget - there's a 'Meet The Judges' wine and cheese evening for artists on the Friday evening. Contact: Helen Wilson 07 863 6974 email: artwaikino@gmail.com
Or if art isn't your thing then why not try out a new sport with a range of fun exercise and health classes also running today, including KungFu, Dragonboating and Piloga.
