Back to back rescues

Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter flew people from Whangamata and Glen Murray near Port Waikato, in back to back missions today.

First rescue was for a 53 year old man suffering a medical event after free diving at Whangamata. The helicopter was called about 2pm.

The man had been free diving with his family when he suddenly become unwell. The man was flown to Waikato Hospital for treatment.

On leaving Hamilton, the rescue helicopter was tasked to Glen Murray, where a man had fallen of his shed roof.

The 79-year-old had been painting the roof when he fell approximately 3 meters and suffered injuries to his head, neck, and legs. He was stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to Middlemore Hospital for treatment.

AWESOME JOB by the RESCUE HELICOPTER, gosh without these people who go night and day to help people and risk themselves at times to help others DESERVE A MEDAL and all the help they need to fly these machines,well done guys and girls for all ya do here, gosh if we hurt ourselves in the bush in the old days we would have to send the pidgeon with a note on its leg, and get the old CHEVY BLITZ to come and get us, and that was just a scratch,LOL) i take my old Stetson off to you, and Thankyou for all the AWESOME work you do, and Sunlive Thankyou to 10-4 out,phew.
