Criticism ‘false and mischievous’

I cannot let P Dey's comments (The Weekend Sun, December 8) go unanswered.

His bankrupted idea is that good business or politics is to funnel as much of the public pie as much as possible into one's family, tribe, or circle without any regard for the public good.

One has to question Mr Dey's reasoning with the welfare of our country. Does he not believe one people, one country?

Instead of unifying our country to move forward and solving our issues he prefers to divide neighbour from neighbour – for whatever reason only Mr Dey will ever know.

His criticism that Maori are not worthy of being represented by me is false and mischievous and does him no credit, as with the other treaty issues he writes about which are economical on the truth.

Having recently observed signatures being collected for a poll on Maori wards, most people want a level playing field. I also sighted a number of Maori who signed the petition.

Well Mr Dey, what mischievous and false representations are you going to make about those who signed because they want a level playing field and are also interested in the welfare of New Zealand and its people?

I note Cr Lally's emotional outburst above. Before he lays claim to any credibility that he can represent Maori, perhaps he might respond to my questions to him in my 3 December comment on his 1 December letter?

Hey Waxo, Cr Lally represents the ratepayers, maori are ratepayers aren't they?, he's representing them, you're not talking about a lost tribe from the Amazon a lot of these people just relate to being maori, have decided they are maori claim to be maori with bloodlines no one can prove, blue eyed blondes at Uni or high school jumping on the bandwagon now, tell you what though Waxo there's some good "koha" to be had eh?.

I care not of your question, you would be wise to realise, face and respond properly to the race-based discrimination occuring and as again highlighted here. FYI - one of Master Dey's "mates" stated that these seats were needed as not even their own people would vote for a part Maori candidate! The obvious then is why would you bypass that serious deficiency and just put in low calibre low level persons ... the peanut brain level in Councils is already critically low now without making it a lot worse like this.

Your last remark is simply patronising Pakeha stuff to Maori. For the rest, check my questions of 3 December to Cr Lally's letter of 1 December to judge whether or not he is capable of representing Maori. I note he has not responded to the questions, simple as they are.

I care not for your answer at all. Nearly 180 years on, you still don't understand where the race-based discrimination has been. You still preach your One Nation slurs and finish them off with describing potential Maori candidates as "low calibre low level persons". Unbelievable.

Name one, just one, race based privilege that is available to non-maori, but excludes maori, on the basis of race. Just ONE!!!!!!!! I'm sure you are aware of the dozens of race based privileges enabled for part-maori only ( maori All Blacks, maori scholarships that EXCLUDE non-maori, maori-only hospital wards, maori-only achiever awards in all NZ secondary schools, etc etc....all of these privileges with no equivalent for other races). And you are OK with that?! Please stop getting your fantasy history ideas from the Disney Channel.
