Heavy rain predictions for tomorrow

Some more rain is being predicted for the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel tomorrow.

A severe weather watch has been issued for the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel with predictions of heavy rain for tomorrow morning.

The MetService says brief heavy rain possible during Sunday morning about the coast from Te Puke to Tairua.

"A trough is expected to slowly move northwest over the western Bay of Plenty and southern Coromandel Peninsula during Sunday morning, with a risk of brief heavy rain.

"Due to the recent heavy rain and flooding in this area, any more heavy rain could cause problems for people living in, or travelling through this region," says a statement from the weather organisation.

"People are advised to remain up to date with the latest forecasts."

Area: Coastal areas from Te Puke to Tairua
Valid: 9 hours from 2am to 11am Sunday
Forecast: During Sunday morning there is a possibility of heavy rain, where 30 to 50mm could fall in 3 to 6 hours. There is uncertainty in the exact location of this heavy rain, and some places within this area may see little if any rain.
