Road closures start tonight on State Highway 29A between the Te Maunga and Baypark roundabouts.

These closures are required for preparatory works for the construction of a new temporary signalised intersection at Te Maunga, where State Highway 2 and SH29A meet, says a statement from New Zealand Transport Agency.

Nightly closures will be in place on SH29A between the Te Maunga and Baypark roundabouts from 8pm to 5am, beginning tonight and finishing 5am on Thursday, September 24.

This will be followed by another closure from 8pm Friday, September 25, right through until 9am Sunday.

Detours will be in place along Truman Lane, Mangatawa Link Road and Sandhurst Drive/Mangatawa Interchange.

'If you are travelling at these times please take extra care, reduce your speed and follow directions of traffic management staff and signage. Where possible, please use alternative routes or plan your travel around these road closures.”Image: NZTA.

In the event of unsuitable weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work will be carried out on the next suitable nights. Motorists are encouraged to visit journeys.nzta.govt.nz for up to date information on road works, traffic, detours and delays.

Longest running debacle

I Live at bayfair and I'm starting to think this may be the longest running road works we have in the country besides transmission gully. When do we say no More to a council & a government who spend & spend with no repurcussions.
