The MetService has issued a severe weather warning for the Bay of Plenty with heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit the region tomorrow.
Rain and strong north easterlies are expected to reach the Western Bay of Plenty on Tuesday as a large front moves southward over the North Island from later today.
Rain is forecast to reach the region this evening and remain until Wednesday, with the heaviest falls predicted for the western Bay during Tuesday.
The MetService says rainfall accumulations may approach warning amounts and will be maintained.
