Two women are in Tauranga Hospital after they were assaulted at a Mount Maunganui address overnight.
The 22 and 39-year-old suffered facial and head injuries in the attack, which took place in a Carter Street house.
Tauranga police say a 29-year-old Mount Maunganui man was arrested later in Papamoa.
He is in custody awaiting a court appearance today on charges of assault with intent to injure and wounding with intent to injure.
Police will oppose bail.
