Firefighters are busy dealing with a large house fire in Ohautiti this morning which has been burning since around 5am.
Emergency services were called to the house in the rural area of Ohauiti Road to find the house well involved.
The house was ablaze when the fire brigade arrived on the scene early this morning. Video by Ross Brown.
Witnesses at the scene say the fire lit up the morning sky.
They say the house was raided for drugs last year and police have been called.
Neighbours say the house has been vacant for a week after the occupants moved out last week.
They say the water tank was removed, along with the gates to the property, when the occupants left the house.
Firefighters are still working to get the blaze under control.
It is not yet known what started the fire.
