Police are investigating a sudden death at a home in Ascot Road in Mount Maunganui.
A 47-year-old woman died at the address overnight and police are currently investigating the circumstances of her death.

Details of the exact cause of death are unknown but Sergeant Phil Gillbanks say police are treating the scene with caution until a post-mortem examination can be undertaken.
Police have been at the scene since 10.30am and have cordoned off the property.
Phil says the woman was found by someone close to her and police are currently in the process of informing the next of kin.
The woman is known to have previous medical conditions.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
