A tractor went up in flames on a rural Pongakawa property today due to what is believed to be an electrical short.
Maketu Fire Brigade was called to the fire on Maniatutu Rd about 9am and arrived to find flames leaping from the engine.

Maketu Fire Brigade chief fire officer Shane Beech says it took five firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire.
No one was injured.
