Building fall victim named

The 52-year-old woman who died after falling four-storeys from the Sharp Tudhope law offices last week has been named as Rawinia Dorris Bennett from Tauranga.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner confirmed the woman's name to SunLive this afternoon.

Rawinia Bennett died after falling from the fourth floor of the Sharp Tudhope building.

The woman, who police said had no fixed abode, had gone to the top level of law offices at 1st Ave on Wednesday, August 13 when she asked to be let out for fresh air.

Police say she then went out onto the fourth-floor balcony and fell four-storeys onto the pavement.

She sustained critical injuries as a result of the fall and later died at Tauranga Hospital.

Her family has been since been notified of her death.

Police investigating her death have now handed the matter over to the Coroner and say there are no suspicious circumstances around Rawinia's death.
