Phone lines down in Te Puke

A truck reversing on Tui Street in Te Puke has collected phone lines this morning causing them to come down outside Te Puke High School.

A spokesperson for the school says firefighters are at the scene as a precaution, but it's 'nothing major”.

The incident happened about 9am and a phone company representative has been called to the scene.

Meanwhile, police are investigating reports of power lines down on Crawford Road, off Wairoa Road.

There are no reports of power outages in the area.

why are phone lines still on poles???? oh thats right no upgrades on infrastructure
