A badly damaged car travelling along Welcome Bay Road prompted a police callout this morning.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the car was seen travelling along Welcome Bay Road before stopping at the traffic lights near Ohauiti Road.

The caller, who did not want to be named, says the vehicle appeared have broken down and was pushed off the road onto Ohauiti Road with the help of another motorist.
A reporter at the scene says the vehicle was driving on three wheels and had extensive damage to the front.
Police were called to the scene and spoke with the driver.
It's understood the car is being towed away. It's unclear how the car was damaged and police are still looking into the matter.

Not rocket science! but this is the idiot that wiped out at 930 on Waitao road and then proceeded to drive off in the state it was found today!

to understand the problem in New Zealand. We have a police force that have their hands tied by red tape and those awful do-gooders in the country. We then get the drop-kicks in our society doing as they wish. There is no longer any thought given to the majority, because the minorities (Be they pressure groups, human rights groups, ethnic groups or any other minority grouping that you care to name) have the kid glove treatment lest they be upset or offended. These particular drop-kicks in the photographs should be hounded out of our communities with non-association orders, dawn raids, and stop and search on sight. Then we may be able to clean up our deadbeat areas and start dealing with those in genuine need of a hand-up rather than a hand-out.
