Police cordoned an area of Mount Maunganui tonight in response to an incident at Clyde Street.
Callers to SunLive say it was the result of a firearms related incident although this has yet to be confirmed by police. A SunLive photographer at the scene says streets are blocked and police cordons established around the Clyde Street/Valley Road vicinity.
