What’s on Today? Crossfit

More than 180 sheets of plywood, four pallets of rubber and 13,000 tons of industrial athletic gear has been brought into ASB Arena ahead of the New Zealand Team National CrossFit Championships today.

This is the third year the championships have been held and the competition is growing in popularity.

Last year's numbers doubled from the previous year and this year organisers are hoping for the same result.

Competitors will be put through their paces as they take part in an array of workouts including weightlifting, including clean and grab, front squat and lockout manoeuvres, followed by the Fran Relay, rowing machine race with intermittent deadlifts, and pull-ups.

The championships will be held over two days.
